Q: What makes your family sessions different?
Our family sessions are unique because we co-document together. This is a collaboration. As you invite me in to capture your family—all the silliness, cuddles, closeness, and adventure—I will, in turn, document your story visually. Our sessions focus on natural movements, not posed shots. If your favourite family activity is counting shells along the shoreline, I’ll be there with you, documenting the moments as Dad swoops the kids onto his shoulders or when they run to show you a new shell.
Our sessions are different because it’s a style of getting back to the kind of images you’d find in photo albums from when we were children. The moments full of life and ones that bring on a nostalgic joy.
Q: How many photos are included?
Your family story is just that—a story—so we don’t want you to walk away with only a snippet. Each session includes a generous number of images, ensuring you get the full experience of your session. Naturally, the more time we spend together, the higher the number of images you’ll receive. Our Frames of Us package offers 40 beautiful documentary-style images with an option to upgrade to the entire gallery. For families looking for a more comprehensive capture of their fam story, our Our Family Album and Deluxe Family Story packages provide 100+ and 150+ images respectively, along with additional benefits like luxury albums and family films. Investing in these packages allows for a more relaxed session, capturing a richer, more detailed portrayal of your family’s story.
Q: What do I get when I book a session?
When you book a session, you'll first receive a family storytelling questionnaire which asks about your story. Following that, you'll receive a Kodo Guide that walks you through everything you need to know for your session, from how to prepare to what to expect. We’ll also have a video call to meet ‘face to face,’ hear your story, and answer any questions you might have. After the session, you'll get access to all the high-res digital images from our time together.
Q: What if we don’t want to do our shoot at home?
No problem at all! We can choose any location that holds significance for your family, whether it’s the local park, the beach, or another place you love. The key is that it’s a place that means something to you and your family.
Q: Can I have both photo & video for our session?
Absolutely! We offer packages that include both photo and video to ensure your family's story is captured in the most detailed way. Our Deluxe Family Story package provides a full 2-4 minute documentary-style family film in addition to 150+ stunning images, along with a 1:30 min film sized for social media. With our Family Album package, you have the option to add a 1-minute boutique family film.
Combining both mediums allows us to capture the moments as they unfold in real time, as well as freeze them through photography.
Q: Do you do family milestone events (eg: birthday parties & formals)?
Yes, we do! While our primary focus is on families, births, and weddings, we occasionally capture events like kids birthday parties and formals. We bring the same co-documenting approach to these events, focusing on the genuine moments and emotions. However, availability for these events is limited.
Q: Do you do extended family sessions?
Yes, we do! Our extended family sessions are natural and documentary in style, capturing the authentic moments and connections that make your family unique. Whether it's around a campfire, down by the water, or in your backyard around a BBQ, we create an experience that everyone looks forward to, not dreads.
Note: Due to the high number of people involved in extended family sessions, extended family sessions must fall under a Family Album or Deluxe Family Story package.
